How to Make Stuffed Idlis/ स्टफ्ड इडली – Easy Step-by-Step Instructions.

Preparing the Idli Batter: First, soak the rice and urad dal for 6-8 hours. Grind them together into a smooth batter. Allow the batter to ferment for 8-12 hours, depending on the temperature. (Time taken: 8-12 hours for fermentation)

Making the Stuffing: Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add chopped onions, green chilies, and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add grated carrots, chopped beans, mashed potatoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Stir well and cook for a few minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves at the end. (Time taken: 10-15 minutes)

Stuffing the Idlis: Grease the idli molds. Pour a little batter into each mold, making a small indentation in the center. Spoon the prepared stuffing into the indentation and cover with more batter. (Time taken: 5-10 minutes)

Steaming the Idlis: Place the idli molds in a steamer and steam for 10-15 minutes until the idlis are cooked and firm to the touch. (Time taken: 10-15 minutes)

Serving the Stuffed Idlis: Once done, remove the idlis from the molds and serve hot with chutney or sambar. (Time taken: 5 minutes)

Total Time: Excluding fermentation, approximately 40-55 minutes for preparation and steaming.
