How to Make Spiced Sweet Potato Puri/ मसालेदार शकरकंद पूरी – Easy Step-by-Step Instructions.

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Begin by peeling and boiling the sweet potatoes until soft. Once boiled, mash them thoroughly, ensuring there are no lumps. Time: 10-12 minutes

Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes with whole wheat flour and semolina. Add the spices : cumin, coriander, and red chili powder. Mix everything well until it forms a smooth dough. If needed, add water little by little until the dough is soft yet firm. Time: 5-7 minutes

Rest the Dough: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the dough to firm up and makes it easier to roll out the puris. Time: 10 minutes

Roll the Puris: After resting, divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it gently into a small circle, using a rolling pin. The puris should be about 4-5 inches in diameter. Keep the thickness even. Time: 10 minutes

Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadhai. The oil should be hot enough for frying, but not smoking. You can check the temperature by dropping a small piece of dough into the oil; if it sizzles immediately, the oil is ready. Time: 5 minutes

Fry the Puris: Gently slide the rolled puris into the hot oil. Fry them one at a time, pressing lightly with a slotted spoon so they puff up. Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Time: 3-4 minutes per puri

Serve: Serve the Spiced Sweet Potato Puri hot with your favorite chutney, yogurt, or raita. Enjoy this crispy, flavorful delight as a snack or part of your meal. Time: 1 minute

Total Time: Approximately 40-45 minutes
