Spinach OR Paalak a leafy vegetable, many of us might not like to include Spinach as one of the dish in our meal. But we are sure, once you read about Spinach; you’ll surely include Spinach Dish in your meal. Generally Spinach leaves are consumed fresh or processed. Spinach can be used as Vegetable or as a Bread (Paranthas), Soups, and fritters too. there are many healthy dishes available here on planmeal.
Spinach, leafy vegetable belongs to amaranth family, and supper supplier of omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin K, A, C, Vitamin B2, B6 and E potassium, manganese, magnesium folic acid, iron along with lot of dietary fibre; and these are very important for us.
When buying Spinach always look for thin, flexible stem along with leaves should be firm, and un-wilted

In Ayurveda, spinach is valued for its cooling properties and ability to nourish the body. It aids digestion, balances Pitta dosha, and provides essential vitamins and minerals. However, it's best consumed cooked and during the day to enhance digestibility and prevent Vata aggravation.
How to Store Spinach
To store spinach and keep it fresh:
1. Wash: Rinse the spinach gently to remove any dirt.
2. Dry: Pat the leaves dry with a clean towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess water.
3. Wrap: Place the spinach in a paper towel to absorb moisture, then put it in a plastic bag or container.
4. Refrigerate: Store the bag or container in the vegetable drawer of your fridge.
This way, your spinach can stay fresh for about 5 to 7 days!

While it might be tempting to buy spinach in bulk, it's advisable to purchase only what you can consume within a few days, as spinach has a short shelf life. When stored properly in the refrigerator, fresh spinach can last about 3 to 5 days. If you find a great deal and plan to use it quickly, consider blanching and freezing any excess for later use.
