LET EVERY CELL IN YOUR BODY BOUNCE WITH JOY!

Health and wellness are commonly used interchangeably, anyway the concepts do have some variances which need to be comprehended. Many of us often associate wellness as a process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. Wellness is more than being free from illness, it is a dynamic process of change and growth.

The WHO defines both health and wellness as "a state of complete physical, mental, emotional and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

According to health and wellness definitions, wellness has a direct influence on overall health, which is essential for living a healthy, happy, and fulfilled life. The primary difference between health and wellness is that health is the goal and wellness is the active process of achieving it. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. It’s an ongoing circle. Now Days even many NGO’s has started addressing this and have also conducted many heath programmes and medical camps for the same. Therefore, it is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions.

Planning your meal in advance is always associated with healthier meal/ diet and NO NCDs (Non Communicable Disease) #StopNCD

You’ll shouldn’t be surprise to note that 96% of women wanted to change their food buying habits. – this includes fewer trips to grocery shop/ store. About 67% of women wanted to be more organized for weekly meal planning.

Tips to Improve Health and Wellness

Eat Whole Foods
A natural way to ensure adequate nutrients is by consuming whole foods rather than boxed and processed products. Comprise the diet of whole grains, fruits and veggies, lean and plant-based proteins, and healthy fat sources.

Exercise Regularly
Exercise stimulates a healthy mind and body and the American Heart Association recommends at least 150 minutes of physical activity weekly. It includes mental exercise as well.

Achieve Quality Sleep
Sleep your way to such benefits by taking short power naps as needed and getting a full night’s rest on a regular basis. The National Sleep Foundation encourages healthy adults to sleep seven to nine hours of quality on a nightly basis.

Take a Day of Rest
In addition to achieving adequate sleep on a nightly basis, allow yourself days of rest and recovery. Make sure to take one day out of the week to do something spontaneous or plan out a weekend trip you can look forward to, as doing so makes the whole "dieting" process more enjoyable. (And life should be enjoyed!)

Life in practice is undoubtedly fraught with stresses, and so much that we can — and we should — question whether they are threatening the health and wellness of veterinarians. Can stress affect health? Every day presents choices as to the extent to which you do what’s best to sustain your physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being, and preserve the balance among these aspects of your health. Optimal health comes from wellness, from making decisions and practicing behaviours that are based on sound health knowledge and healthful attitudes.

We can’t eliminate the stresses of practice, but we can make the efforts and an intelligent lifestyle revolution with the help of planmeal, to prevent these stress-ors from wearing us down.
