How to Make Aloo paratha/ आलू पराठा – Easy Step-by-Step Instructions.

Instructions to Make Aloo Paratha

Step 1: Prepare the dough
Start by kneading whole wheat flour with water and a pinch of salt into a smooth, soft dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes. Time taken: 15 minutes

Step 2: Prepare the potato filling
While the dough is resting, boil the potatoes and mash them well. Add spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt. Mix in chopped onions, cilantro, and green chilies for extra flavor. Time taken: 10 minutes

Step 3: Divide dough and filling
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Do the same with the potato filling. You should have a ball of dough and a ball of filling for each paratha. Time taken: 5 minutes

Step 4: Roll the dough and stuff with filling
Take one dough ball, flatten it slightly, and roll it out into a small circle. Place the potato filling in the center and carefully seal the dough around the filling, pinching the edges to close. Then, gently roll out the stuffed dough ball into a flat, round paratha. Time taken: 10 minutes

Step 5: Cook the paratha
Heat a tawa or flat griddle on medium heat. Place the rolled-out paratha on the hot tawa. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until light golden spots appear. Then, apply a little ghee or oil and cook for an additional minute on each side until crispy and golden brown. Time taken: 5 minutes per paratha

Step 6: Serve
Remove the paratha from the tawa and serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or chutney. Repeat the same process for the remaining dough balls. Time taken: 5 minutes

Total Time: Approximately 45-50 minutes
